Weddings

Weddings are very important. Professional Wedding Services provided by Dr Rev Albert D Pepiton, Ordained minister since August 2, 2002, and achieved his Doctor of Divinity August 27, 2017. On May 21, 2019, he was commissioned as a Notary Public of the state of South Carolina. His commission expires May 21, 2029.

Now being a Notary Public of the State of South Carolina, only Notarial Acts may be performed within the State of South Carolina, but also being an Ordained Minister and a Dr of Divinity, a marriage ceremony can be performed anywhere in the United States with the exception of Las Vegas (where an entertainers license is required and New York (where a special license is required).

Marriage Licenses

Both parties must be 18 years or older and appear together to apply for a marriage license.  All applicants must present a Social Security Card and a legal document showing his/her proper name.  Name on Social Security information must match identification.  The cost of a marriage license is $46 (CASH ONLY).  There is a 24-hour waiting period in Anderson, South Carolina from the time you apply for the marriage license until the time the license can be issued.  After the waiting period has expired one the contracting parties must return to pick up the license.

There are additional requirements if one of the parties is under age 18 and at least 16 years old:  certified copy of the Birth Certificate, that must be left with the Probate Court permanently; and parent’s consent, parent must appear in Probate Court with proper identification to link him/her with the minor.

As a South Carolina Notary Public, I am permitted by the state to Officiate Weddings in South Carolina. However a Notary Public may not preside over Church Weddings. As an Ordained Minister I am able to act as a Professional Wedding Officiant and not only preside over Weddings in a church, but also I can perform weddings across the United States as well as the Caribbean and many places around the world.
